Lady’s Story – Chapter 46

Before my visit with Elicia…tufters galore! Click for Larger Image
My first clue that it was getting close to a visit with Elicia at the spa was when my mom and dad started teasing me about my tufters.  They’re poofy patches of fur that stick out from my normal beautifully smooth fur.  My mom and dad pluck gobs of them off me.  Hey, don’t panic, it doesn’t hurt at all, in fact, it feels kinda good to get plucked.  They brush me too, but they don’t do as good a job as Elicia does.  (Shhh, please don’t tell them I said that, I wouldn’t want them to feel inadequate, ya know what I’m saying?)My second and final clue was when my mom said that I smelled like a dog!  WHAT?!  What the heck is that supposed to mean?  I am a dog and that’s what I’m supposed to smell like.  Good gravy, mom, you’re not making any sense here.  (Obviously, I kept these thoughts to myself.)Soon we were off to see Elicia.  I had a bath, a warm blow dry, a real good brushing that got rid of my tufters, a sassy nail trim, and ear cleaning.  Not sure about the ear cleaning thing ‘cause I can hear just fine, but, whatever, I trust Elicia. Now my mom is planning something special for us to do for my dad for Father’s Day!  I asked my mom what the plan was and ya know what she had the audacity to say to me?  ‘Lady, I can’t tell you because you, my sweet girl, can’t keep a secret!’What’?!  What the heck does that mean…I can’t keep a secret.  I’m hurt!  I’m so hurt!Well, that’s just FINE!  Whatever the PLAN is this much I know…I’ll be looking good, feeling cool, and smelling good for my dad on Father’s Day and I owe it all to my friend, Elicia!
And after my visit with Elicia…not a tufter to be found! Click for Larger Image

When I was a kid, I used to imagine animals running under my bed.

I told my dad, and he solved the problem quickly.

He cut the legs off the bed.

Our Kitchen – By Bev Wilson

Last Sunday, my bosses had Chinese food for lunch.  It was one of those meals for so many people that came with some extras.  One of those extras was a waxed paper bag filled with six hot crunchy crab rangoons.  Lucky for me, they neither one like them and since I was right there – well, let's just say they didn't stay in that little bag very long. The creamy texture and sweet flavor of the crab meat in the filling reminded me of this recipe.  Quick to make, this dip is a tremendous crowd pleaser.Hope you enjoy!

Crab Rangoon Dip

• 2 cups crab meat (Two 6-oz cans fancy crab meat)• 16 oz cream cheese (2 blocks)• 1/2 cup sour cream• 4 green onions, chopped fine• 1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce• 2 Tbsp powdered sugar• 1/2 tsp garlic powder• 1/2 tsp lemon juice

Directions

1. First, soften the cream cheese in the microwave for about a minute.2. Chop your green onions. Add them and your two cups of crab meat.3. Add the sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, powdered sugar, garlic powder and lemon juice.4. Mix all the ingredients and bake in glass casserole for 30 min at 350 degrees. Serve hot with crackers, chips, or fried or baked wantons.
SEE YOU SOON!!!
