Think small and inside the pot this Saturday and Sunday, at our Miniature Garden Workshop. Join us, from 10 am to 3 pm, for a journey to our miniature world. Create your very own miniature fairy garden just as you’ve seen in the glossy home and garden magazines!
Captivating, Christmas miniatures, little gazing balls, tiny bird baths, petite fairies, small stepping stones, diminutive garden arbors, and miniature fences are just some of the treasures we have waiting here to help you realize your vision. Choose from our wide selection of tiny, live plants to bring your miniature wonderland to life. Bring your own pot or purchase one here. Soil is free, and design assistance is always available! Choose from our large selection of succulents and miniature garden plants and garden accessories to create your very own one-of-a-kind miniature garden.
All miniature garden accessories must be purchased from America’s Best Flowers and we ask that you do not bring in anything from home or from other suppliers. A minimum $10 purchase, per container, is required.
We know life is busy so if you are unable to make it to this last miniature garden weekend workshop you are welcome to come in and create your special miniature garden during the week. Groups are welcome at any time but please call ahead for groups of 5 or more to make sure we have adequate staff.
Always keep your words soft and sweet,

Awe your family and friends this holiday season with beautiful festive porch pots! Our holiday porch pot workshop is just one of our many ‘hands-on’ workshops we offer our customers. What a creative, fun and easy way to decorate for the holidays.
You are welcome to bring in your empty container(s) from home or purchase a few from us. Our containers range from inexpensive plastic to high-end ceramic. We will provide FREE sand for your container or liner. (We recommend always using a liner in ceramic containers.) A minimum $10 purchase, per container, is required.
We offer bundles of assorted fresh greens as a base to start your container. Once you have arranged the greens, you can add to your container from our wide assortment of artificial picks and stems to accentuate your design.
Finished prices range from $35 to $150. It all depends on how large, how full, and how dramatic you would like your container to be.
As with all our workshops, you do the actual “planting.”Our experienced design staff will be on hand to assist with your design and arrangement.
If you can’t make it to one of our weekend workshops just stop out to the greenhouse from Monday through Friday, between 9:30-3:30 and do your own porch pot creation. Please keep in mind that assistance will be limited outside of the workshop weekend hours.
A retirement village decided to hold a Singles Dance, at which this
very sweet 90-year-old gentleman met a very sweet 90-year-old lady,
and they danced and talked and laughed, and just hit it off great.
They continued to see each other for a while and enjoyed each other
so much, and danced so well together, etc. that they decided to get married.
On their wedding night, they went to bed and he reached over and took her
hand and squeezed it, and she squeezed his hand back, and they went to sleep.
On the second night, when they went to bed, he reached over and
squeezed her hand, and she squeezed his hand back, and they went to sleep.
On the third night, he reached over and took her hand, and she said,
"Not tonight, honey, I have a headache."

Amaryllis bulbs produce large, beautiful blooms indoors, in the winter, after a few weeks of dormancy. Easy to care for, they need only a sunny window, regular feeding, and careful watering. You can either toss them after they’ve bloomed, or with extra care, they can bloom year after year. Check out these Amaryllis Care Instructions for details.

A Time of Remembrance
Let’s face it…holidays can be very, very emotional. Many of us reminisce about friends and family members who are no longer with us. Whether it is a moment of silence, a prayer, a retelling of a laughter filled story or possibly a presentation of a holiday remembrance wreath at a final resting place, all are loving and beautiful ways to pay tribute.
If you would like a wreath, America’s Best Flowers has decorated and undecorated fresh wreaths, available at both our locations, along with two sizes of heavy duty easels (36” and 42”) to support the wreath.

Vegetables are a must on a diet.
I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie.
A few months ago Diane brought in this pecan pie for the birthday treat of another co-worker. It took one bite for me to ask for the recipe. What a delicious dessert this would make for Thanksgiving dinner.
Diane’s Pecan Pie
- Pastry for 9” pie (See next recipe)
- 1 C dark brown sugar, packed
- 2/3 C pure maple syrup
- 3 large eggs
- 3 T butter, melted
- 2 t pure vanilla extract
- ½ t salt
- 2 c pecan halves
Preheat oven to 375. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to a 12” circle. Ease into 9” pie pan. Trim edge ½ inch larger than pan. Fold edge of pie crust under and crimp, making a fluted edge. Set aside.
Mix sugar, maple syrup, eggs, melted butter, vanilla and salt in a large mixing bowl until well blended. Stir in pecan halves.
Set pie pan on baking sheet. Pour in filling. Cover edge of crust with 2” aluminum foil strip folded into a tent to prevent crust from getting too brown.
Bake 40-50 minutes until the filling is golden brown, puffed and set around the edge. Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting.
Pastry for Single 9” Pie
- 1 C flour
- ¼ t salt
- 1/3 C shortening
- 3 T ice cold water
Mix flour and salt together. Cut in shortening with pastry cutter until corn meal consistency. Add water, 1 T at a time, until dough sticks together, taking care not to over mix. Knead carefully a few times and then roll out.
